RBI provided California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documentation and permitting and construction monitoring services for the Omochumne-Hartnell Water District (OHWD) for various summer dam repairs and fish passage improvements between 2007 and 2011. The projects repaired damage to four Cosumnes River summer dams that resulted from high-flow events. An important component to these repairs was to ensure adequate fish passage over the summer dams for Chinook salmon during their migrations to and from upstream spawning areas. Completion of these projects provided OHWD a continuing ability to divert surface water in the summer, provide important groundwater recharge in an area where groundwater is depleted, and ensure safe passage for Chinook salmon.
