South Sacramento County Basin Water Management Planning: South Basin Water Council

Southeast Sacramento County Agricultural Water Authority (SSCAWA), the City of Galt, Rancho Murieta Community Services District, The Nature Conservancy, Sacramento County Water Agency, and the California Department of the Water Resources teamed to develop a local governance structure to manage surface water and groundwater resources. The group’s planning will guide the management of water resources for all water users in the area, as well as for important environmental resources associated with the Cosumnes River. RBI is providing the technical lead to this group for the development of governance structure; a groundwater management plan, including options for conjunctive use management; and coordination with the American River Basin IRWMP.
