RBI provides innovative services in the field of water resources modeling and management. By understanding the complexities of managing both groundwater and surface water resources, we more effectively meet the objectives of water supply, environmental protection, restoration, and power generation. RBI’s approach is solution oriented. We employ our ingenuity and technical expertise to advise clients of risks and opportunities at every stage of the project.
RBI staff are experienced with analyses of water resources at all levels of detail. We perform analysis and modeling of hydrology, water supply, surface water hydraulics, groundwater, effluent plume dilution and mixing, and water and wastewater infrastructure. RBI also conducts hydrologic analyses including rainfall-runoff relationships, storage evaluations, and supply-demand relationships. We perform hydraulic modeling of surface water resources at high flows to support flood studies and low flows to support evaluations of effects to fish and wildlife of upstream diversions. To support system-wide evaluations of expansion and efficiency projects, RBI staff can perform hydraulic modeling of water and recycled water infrastructures.
Our experience extends from site and regional riverine and groundwater evaluations to assessment of coordinated state and federal operations of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, including modeling using the Department of Water Resources Delta Simulation Model (DSM2). We work with our clients to tailor modeling studies to the appropriate level of detail—providing products that accurately and economically meet client objectives.
